Panasonic Connect GmbH and roda computer GmbH signed an agreement in June to provide customized solutions of Panasonic products for use in military vehicles. Under the agreement, roda computer GmbH will supplement Panasonic TOUGHBOOK hardware with military round connectors or additional module-based interfaces. These military-specific solutions, offered throughout Europe, will provide security and defence organizations with new, flexible, and forward-thinking mobile IT usage possibilities. Panasonic and roda have a long-standing and trusted relationship that has developed in various major projects in the past and will now be intensively continued.

For military users, it is essential, and often mission-critical, to be able to rely on reliable technology. Panasonic develops and distributes deployable mobile devices under the TOUGHBOOK brand that international defence organizations trust and have been tested for robustness and reliability to the strictest military standards. As each unit and mission has different requirements, the extended collaboration can realize a wide range of modular configuration options and customized adaptations to the Panasonic TOUGHBOOK hardware with roda computers expertise.

The product portfolios of the two leading providers of rugged and customized IT solutions complement each other ideally: roda offers particularly rugged tablets and notebooks, such as the Rocky RK12 or Lizard RB14, with display sizes up to 17" and military interfaces. Security-relevant data is protected not only by the robust housings but also optionally by the radiated emission security (TEMPEST) according to the national zone model (BSI) and the international SDIP 27.
